Associate Chemist

InVision Biomedical is a consulting laboratory involved in materials development, design, prototyping, and manufacturing process development for the biomedical devices industry, primarily implantable ophthalmic devices. We have an immediate opening for an Associate Chemist. The position involves the following:

• Synthesis of new polymeric materials for intraocular lenses and other surgical devices
• Experimentation to determine stability and purity of the new materials
• Quantitative and qualitative chemical analysis
• Pilot process chemistry

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a B.S. in Chemistry with 0-3 year's industrial experience. Experience in the medical devices industry, either through employment or an internship, is a plus. Experience with well-known analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, and UV/VIS Spectrophotometry is required. Candidate must be a quick learner and be comfortable in a "hands-on" chemistry laboratory setting. The successful candidate will also be attentive to experimental details including safety procedures in the laboratory. Good written and verbal communication skills are a must as are computer skills with programs such as MS Word, MS Excel, and instrument operating programs.
